Major Area of Concern

The board issues/areas of major concern have been identified and all activities would be built around them, keeping in mind the local and regional-specific contexts. They are:

v Water & Sanitation - Water management/testing, hazard polluted water
can cause; cleanliness and sanitation.

v Health & Nutrition - Create awareness / insight into health hazards, their
forms and causes; Focus and conditions / Periods of the year these
health hazards assume threatening proportions; awareness on nutritious
and hygienic food practices.

v Environment & Biodiversity Conservation - Give insight into threats to the bio-
diversity and ways to conserve it.

v Disaster & Prepration - many regions are prone to natural and man-made
disasters. What are these, what preparation can be made to minimize damage to
life and property.

v Soil & Cover management - Create insight into topsoil quality, qand its possible
polluted, means/methodsm of maintaining soil moister/fertility, guarding against
erosion/forms of soil degradation, etc.


v Empowerment of People Through Information Technology - Focus on IT as a
access to the problems-solving and decision making capabilities.
